One moment your down
everything feels damp
dusty and
smells like the sink drain
your wife hates your guts
the washing machine breaks and
you need to buy a new one
a strange man keeps eyeing you
while your riding to work
on a saturday morning!
Then suddenly everything changes
you stop feeling sorry for yourself
your wife texts you to apologize
your students have smiles
on their faces
you eat a ham and butter sandwhich
on that french bread
the kind with the powdery crust
the dust has settled
and now your in limbo
waiting for the next wave

ART 21

art 21 at PBS. 5 seasons of episodes on art in the twenty first century. I just watched episode 2 which covers the concept of spirituality. The first artist is Ann Hamilton who uses all kinds of mediums such as video, textiles, and photography. The most inspiring was that she made pin-hole cameras, which she places in her mouth. And then by opening her mouth onto her subject the film is exposed to light. Another highlight is a feature on James Turrell, who if you don't know is quite famous for his work with light. He has been working on a project called the Roden Crader for almost 40 years. It sits in the middle of the dessert and is designed as place to view celestial events, such as stars, the moon, and the sky.
