On the way home
Every night I walk up this mountain of stairs in the midst of a construction site. This stretch of stairs has replaced the old concrete ones. They are here only temporary, for soon they will build another set. They rest lightly on the ground. They rattle and squeak with each step. As I walk up them I imagine an earthquake tearing them from the ground.
Capote
I just watched this. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is an amazing actor(Boogie Nights?Happiness). He plays Truman Capote, the author of In Cold Blood. The story is the great conquest of the artist trying to create something sublime, but which destroyed him on the inside. Be careful what you wish for. Great art is never without consequence.

On the way
Everyday I go up and down a small mountain of 130 plus stairs where a new train track is being built. As the track gets longer and longer they change the pedestrian path. I hope that they never stop building it. The process of construction is just as interesting, if not more than, the final product.

Crass
Recently on Vice TV, Soft Focus posted its interview of Penny Rimbaud, one of the founding members of Crass. This band was incredible, from the design of their records to its voice of critique on society. Their music and politics for Radical. Its a shame that they receive little to no attention in the scope of punk history. I highly recommend this interview as well to a search for other information on the band. I may not agree with their opinions, but its refreshing to hear people speak their opinions with conviction in todays apathetic world.
